Picture Books and Early Readers
"It's good that children ask questions: that's the best way to learn." --Bernice Cullinan.

Picture Books, Early Readers, and Read-Aloud Books. This page is intended mainly for readers ages 0-8, although many of these books are so wonderul that they can be enjoyed by the young-at-heart as well. My own junior high students and I loev the thrill of picture books on lazy Friday afternoons.

Age suggestions are approximate, and should not be used restrictively. Many young children are able to read far beyond their level, while some older children thoroughly enjoy a book recommended for younger readers. Furthermore, some timeless classics are just too good to be read by only one particular group of children.

The "Review" box denotes whether the title in question is one which I myself have reviewed on this site. Naturally, most books have been reviewed somewhere, sometime, by someone; this designates only whether I myself have done so. Suggestions or recommendations (or pleas!) for coming reviews may be sent to greatbooks@greatbooks.iwarp.com and I will be pleased to help, if at all possible.
